Chris Moody and Deb Puku spent a good amount of time searching for professions that would positively impact people and be personally rewarding. They each have a diverse background; Chris spent 15 years in commercial construction and recently finished his education in France with a Master’s degree in International Finance. Deb received a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies from San Jose State University and worked in Silicon Valley starting projects at NASA Ames and Excite@Home. Although husband and wife, neither thought they would end up working together, but turns out they had more in common than they thought! They’ve come together professionally to create a strong partnership.
Chris and Deb are excited about their venture with Solar Universe because they believe it does what no other profession is really able to do: it saves people their hard-earned money and saves the environment, one building, one home at a time. Chris and Deb experienced firsthand what a summer can do to electric bills when they lived in the Central Valley for a few years. It’s their mission to reach out to as many homes and businesses as they can in order to educate people about the benefits of solar both on the environment and on their wallet.
Not a lot of people know that adding solar panels to their roof can save them thousands of dollars. Chris and Deb want to change that. They’ve put together a great team of S.U.N. Advisors who are extensively trained in solar technology, ready to inform and educate, and care about client satisfaction. Their team is like their family, and each person they add as a client is welcomed as well. Their team is called Valley Energy Construction, and services the Livermore, Pleasanton, Dublin, Brentwood, Sunol and Byron/Discovery Bay areas.

“Our installation started on a Monday and completed on a Thursday with the system up and running (that was with one afternoon of wind which did not allow panels to be placed on roof). Solar Universe filed all the paper work with the City, State and PGE. City inspector was available that Thursday of completion and signed the building permit, PG&E took about two weeks to inspect and install the new meter. I do enjoy the clean look of the work and with Enphase Inverters, there is no large inverter hanging next to the PG&E meter. The sales and installation crew were outstanding to work with, they were tidy and cleaned the area every day prior to departing for the day. Thank you Solar Universe.”

They did things I did not expect, such as painting the conduit to match the house etc. Very happy with the entire process and so far the results are great.
